GrandWest gears up for a Cape Town first

GrandWest is gearing up to host the exuberant Michael Flatley when he ventures to Cape Town in August 2017 to perform for his local fans for the first time. Based on the rave reviews of Flatley’s tour to Johannesburg in 2015, GrandWest expects the spectacular new staging of Flatley’s traditional masterpiece, Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games, to be a sellout success. The production will be staged at the Grand Arena from 8 to 13 August 2017.

“We are thrilled to be part of bringing Michael Flatley to his Cape Town fans for the first time. This is a not to be missed audiovisual treat,” says Elouise Matthys, the PR and Promotions Manager at GrandWest.

Although Michael Flatley may not have performed live in Cape Town, he is globally known for his innovative choreography and unforgettable performance at the 1994 Eurovision as well as his hit shows Lord of the Dance, Feet of Flames and Celtic Tiger.

With all the precision and thrills of the original, Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games boasts new staging, dazzling costumes and breathtaking choreography. The show also features cutting edge technology including a giant radiant flat screen that spans the width of the stage, special effects lighting, dancing robots and world champion acrobats.

With some of the world`s most outstanding young performers, directed by Michael Flatley and new music by composer Gerard Fahy, this latest iteration combines the best of tradition with all the excitement of new music and dance. Tickets, ranging in price from R365 to R540, are on sale at Big Concerts and Computicket.
