Flamingo has just confirmed that top South African DJ Oskido will make a special appearance in the awesome Heritage Day lineup on Heritage Day (24 September 2017) at its Entertainment Grounds. The iconic mix master will be just one of the many highlights as there will also be well known local DJs such as Sponty, Naftaly and Sacs in the mix.
DJ and recording artist Oskido needs little introduction to club music fans. He is one of the pioneering artists who popularized the Kwaito genre of music outside the townships of South Africa and is regarded as one of the premier acts in the local music industry. Kwaito is a music genre that was originally created in South Africa during the 1990s. It has been described as the music that defines the generation who came of age after apartheid. Oskido and some other artists were among the first artists to produce Kwaito songs by adding vocals to the slow tempo house beats that went on to become popular in South Africa and beyond. His contribution to the development of music in South Africa earned him a Special Recognition Award at the 2012 Channel O Music Video Awards.
Do not miss this rare opportunity to see this exceptional talent on the decks right here in Kimberley this Heritage Day. The party starts at 14h00 and tickets are R50 per person at the casino’s Cash Desk. Revelers can look forward to exceptional entertainment throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
