Visitors to the October installment of the Carnival City Market on 1 October 2017 can look forward to even more stalls and exhibits of handcrafted goods, clothing, artisanal drinks and other products on Sunday 1 October 2017. For the second edition of the market, there is a special surprise, well loved artists, Ricus Nel with his band will be performing. The market, which takes place at the outdoor Pocket Park, will open at 10h00 and entrance is free.
“We were heartened by the great response to our first market in September and we are thrilled to do it again in October. This market provides a wonderful platform for showcasing what our community has to offer. Buying local feeds our local economy so we hope the community will come out in support of this family-centred event,” Michelle Smith, Marketing Manager at Carnival City.
The ever-popular Ricus Nel, has enjoyed tremendous success on the music scene with albums such as Sak en Pak, Sout Van Die Aarde, Ricus Nel sing Don Williams en ander country legends and Ouskool Boerseun. His latest album, Ricus Nel bring hulde aan Worsie Visser, is jam packed with catchy songs like “Boesmanland”, “Gee die hond wind”, “Lekker ou Jan”, “Wikkel daai boude”, “Strandfontein”, “Gansbaai” and “Brannewyn laat my staan”.
A family styled affair, the Carnival Market will feature entertainment for children such as bungee jumping, pony rides and a clown offering some tips of the trade. In addition, the Pocket Park itself boasts colourful climbing frames, a simulated Grand Prix circuit, free ski-rink, a selection of rides in the theme park and carnival stalls where youngsters can take a stab at winning prizes.
