Amazon to Bring Daring New Drama The Looming Tower from Legendary TV to Prime Video Members Around the World in 2018

Jeff Daniels, Alec Baldwin and Peter Sarsgaard to star in highly anticipated series from Legendary TV, coming to Amazon Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories worldwide

Amazon today announced that it will bring the highly anticipated new series, The Looming Tower, as an exclusive to Prime Video members outside of the U.S. in early 2018. Starring Emmy-Award winner Jeff Daniels (The Martian, Newsroom) and Golden Globe, Emmy, and Screen Actors Guild Award-winner Alec Baldwin (30 Rock, The Departed), the highly anticipated 10-episode series is based on the Pulitzer Prize winning exposé of the same name by Lawrence Wright. Produced by Legendary TV, The Looming Tower will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories.

The Looming Tower traces the rising threat of Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda, and takes a controversial look at how the rivalry between the CIA and FBI may have inadvertently set the stage for the tragedy of 9/11 and the war in Iraq.

Adapted for television by Academy Award-nominated writer Dan Futterman (Foxcatcher, Capote) and directed by Academy Award and Emmy Award-winning Director Alex Gibney (Going Clear: Scientology and The Prison of Belief, Taxi to the Dark Side, and We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks), the series stars Jeff Daniels, Tahar Rahim, Peter Sarsgaard, Bill Camp, Michael Stuhlbarg, Virginia Kull, Sullivan Jones, Wrenn Schmidt and Alec Baldwin.
