The event hosted in the Red Roman Shed, the wine festival
saw different wine connoisseurs coming together with wine lovers and those who
know very little about wine but still enjoy the different tastes and a day out.
When the guests arrived they were given
a tasting glass branded with “The cellar Rats” and 98.0 Mix FM logos engraved
on it. As well as a competition entry form that you could win 3 bottles of wine.
Walking into the venue, there was this buzzing atmosphere
with people from all walks of life, trying out new and exciting products as
well as the good old classics. My favourite ‘new’ product (well at least new to
me) was the blue wine. No you didn’t read incorrectly. It tastes like wine but
it didn’t look like wine. It was a lovely light blue wine that looked like it should
be a part of a good blue cocktail. There were also liqueurs that were lovely
and smooth that tasted like chocolate. One was a milk chocolate and the other a
white chocolate, served in a wafer cup. It was glorious!
What I liked about this festival was that there was not only
wine, even though it was a wine festival, they showcased craft Beers, Gins,
Whiskey and some chilly sauces for those who love some tang in their food. It
was nice to see that they were catering for a couple type atmosphere so if then
men (or women) weren’t particularly taken by wine there were many other options
for them so that everybody could enjoy themselves.
The only small criticism that I have is that it would have
been great to have a band or live music there, I know that Mix Fm were broadcasting
live form the venue, it should would have added that little bit extra fun. But I
still enjoyed the Djs, and their music.
I really enjoyed this event and the organisation behind it
was really well thought out and put together. I wold 100% recommend this event,
so look out for more like it. Emperors Palace have done it again and hosted a
wonderful, fun filled event that’s not to be missed.
