Billy G opens its doors at Gold Reef City

Johannesburg South’s favourite family entertainment destinations, Gold Reef City, is adding another restaurant, Billy G, to its range of excellent eateries. The upmarket, family buffet restaurant will officially open its doors on Friday, 3 May 2019, providing visitors with a wide variety of mouth-watering dishes.

Owned by Tsogo Sun, the Billy G brand offers an extensive selection of dishes, including succulent cuts of meat at the carvery, a variety of casseroles, curries, vegetarian offerings, seafood, pasta dishes and salads, as well as tantalising desserts.

Marketing Manager at Gold Reef City, Feron Somiah, says the first Billy G Restaurant was opened in Montecasino in 2010 and named in honour of the late Dr Billy Gallagher, whose contribution to hospitality and food and beverage spanned almost 40 years and whose influence continues today through the many individuals he mentored throughout his career.

“Billy G currently has restaurants at Montecasino, Silverstar Casino, Suncoast Casino and The Ridge Casino. We are looking forward to adding this reputable brand to our restaurant offering at Gold Reef City. It’s part of our mission to continually offer our visitors new experiences, incredible food and top-notch entertainment.”

The highly competent Errol Mogashoa will join the Billy G team at Gold Reef City as Sous Chef, bringing with him a wealth of experience from other well-known eateries around the country.  With 15 years’ experience as a professional chef under his belt, he has Southern African cuisine covered.

From managing dining and buffet style restaurant options and motivating employees to perform to the best of their abilities, to creating new recipes and menu variations, implementing seasonal ingredients and adopting modern meal preparation techniques, Mogoshoa will ensure diners keep coming back to Billy G for a delicious dining experience.
