Women treated like queens at Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player

08 November - The focus might have been on the golfing greens at Sun City with eyes on those taking part in the Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player.

But, it was the Style Affair that got the most attention from the delighted wives and girlfriends (WAGS) of the golfers, their friends and celebrity guests.

The women were given a day of being pampered in what has become a headline event during the Golf Challenge, the Style Affair.
Set in the magnificent Sun City setting, no effort was spared in ensuring that the women were spoilt with beauty treatments, and exposed to some of the latest trends in the fashion and style world.

Experts planned and executed the treats and treatments for the women, indulging them in what was part of the Sun International commitment to women empowerment.

This was the 4th time that this event has been held at Sun City, brought back each year by popular demand.

On offer for the women were:
Relaxing massages by Gatsby Spa
Nails by Morgan Taylor
Hair by leading stylists compliments of Bijan
Fashion styling by Dom Wolf
IV Push Energy IV Infusions by Dr. Alistair McAlpine
Make-up by Yves Saint Laurent
Fragrances by the Fragrance Queen

Sun International PR Manager, Claudia Henkel says: “This Style Affair, now in its 4th year, has become one of the most popular events on the NGC calendar.

“It was wonderful for us to be able to provide treats for the women during golf week. It was also an opportunity to expose the women to the truly wonderful entertainment possibilities that are available at Sun City – for everyone.”
She said that the 2017 Style Affair was “the best one we’ve hosted to date” adding that the women thoroughly enjoyed the day of extreme pampering.

Shashi Naidoo, actress, TV presenter, model, entrepreneur and fashion blogger said the women who attended the event had had “a wonderful time”.

“The Style Affair hosted by Sun City was a feast of elegance where the bubbles came from more than just the excellent bubbly that was served to the women; it was a day of networking, laughter, and some superb spa treatments.”

Sophie Ndaba, South African actress famous for acting as Queen Moroka for about 20 years in the soap Generations was also a happy guest at the Style Affair.

She said: “It was a lot of fun! I hope that this lavish affair that honours and celebrates women become a permanent feature at the annual NGC.”

Sun International’s Group Chief Strategy and Operations Officer Rob Collins: “We were, as usual, delighted to host this most prestigious event on the golf calendar. But, we wanted the women who accompany the golfers to feel very much a part of the special week, and we think we achieved that.

“To make sure they were happy during the Nedbank tournament, we went the extra mile to ensure they received very special treatment.”
Cocktails, champagne and canapes were enjoyed at Bocado, Cascades by women beautifully dressed in the chosen style, Afro Chic.
