Time Square South Africa’s Globe Bar has become home to a bespoke collection of LOUIS XIII Cognac keeps, designed exclusively for the venue. The Globe Bar – named after its panoramic ‘global’ view over the Menlyn Maine precinct is now adorned by two walls of these exquisite cabinets, each housing a decanter of LOUIS XIII.
Each of the legendary LOUIS XIII decanters, presented to 44 of Time Square’s most valued guests and held at The Globe Bar for safekeeping, are made from fine crystal and mouth-blown by some of the most skilled master craftsmen.
Upon acquiring their individual cabinet, every proud new owner was gifted a personalised key, and will be able to enjoy their LOUIS XIII cabinet during each visit to The Globe Bar with friends, family or colleagues, whatever the occasion.
“Our journey with LOUIS XIII has come full circle with the addition of this beautiful collection of LOUIS XIII keeps at our Globe Bar. LOUIS XIII thinks a century ahead. Each decanter is the life achievement of generations of cellar masters. Since its origins in 1874, each generation of cellar master selects from its cellars the oldest and most precious eaux‐de‐vie for LOUIS XIII. Today, Cellar Master Baptiste Loiseau is setting aside the finest eaux‐de‐vie, as a legacy to his successors for the coming century. LOUIS XIII is an exquisite blend of up to 1,200 eaux‐de‐vie sourced 100% from Grande Champagne, the first cru of the Cognac region.

The Globe Bar offers a premium, intimate experience for discerning guests, with a sumptuous menu of luxurious spirits and cocktails, and regular performances by DJs and musicians. The all-glass sphere of the upmarket Globe Bar, located on the third floor, is visible from the outside of the futuristic Time Square complex and offers panoramic views of the Menlyn bustle during the day and the lights at night.
