One of the best things about SA’s most dazzling
race, The Neon Run, is that the fun doesn’t stop after
participants have made their way across the finish line. After the race, the
night will ignite with a fabulous music festival to keep the vibe going strong.
The next event in Jozi, which is happening on the 2nd of September
2017 at St Stithian’s College not only promises a new, contained 5km course with epic
activations along the route, but also a sizzling line-up of some of SA’s hottest acts to
keep attendees dancing into the night. Plus, don’t forget that this
family-friendly run can be done at a walk, a run, on skates, on a bicycle or
even at a hop, skip and a jump. All that matters is that absolutely everybody
has an electric time at this unique event.
The acts confirmed for the music festival are a blend of the funkiest
and most fabulous local talent around. This includes 5FM’s cool kid on the
block, DJ Nick Hamman, who is also an accomplished musician and producer. He
has performed at many music festivals, and his sets are eclectic and
genre-defying. Mysterious trio Strange Loving Featuring Apple Gule will also be
performing. Their edgy sound is influenced by disco through to deep house and
their secretive vibe simply adds to their allure. The deliciously fresh
breakout act Monark will be delivering a rich and polished pop performance to
dance along to, while DJ Abby Nurock will be bringing musical therapy in the
form of old and new-school infectious dance grooves and majestic beats. For
jazzy, groovy & uplifting house music, live electronic act The Kiffness
will be taking the stage and another favourite, Kyle Cassim, will be keeping
crowds entertained with his passionate, high energy set.
Tavis Brown, Special Events Director of Oomph-Africa, is confident
that there is something to entertain everyone attending: “We have confirmed a
line-up that crackles with all the energy and excitement that people associate
with the race. The Neon Run isn’t just about getting over the finish line – it’s about enjoying
the entire experience and glowing from start to end!”
With the line-up confirmed and the party sure to be a luminous,
light-up night to remember, all that’s left is for
participants to grab their tickets and their craziest, brightest neon gear.
