Enjoy some old school nostalgia with the Kofifi Movement at The Carousel

The wildly popular Kofifi Movement returns to The Carousel this August for another Sophiatown-themed evening like no other. Top local DJS will be on the decks taking revelers on a nostalgic trip through old school classics. In the mix for Kofifi Met Ousies on 5 August 2017 at The Nickelodeon at The Carousel are DJs Thomas, Clifford, Ntshale, Willy Me-nayza, DJ Norman, DJ Inno and Big P. This will be the forth Kofi Movement event to be staged at The Carousel. Previous events have sold out and received rave reviews from partygoers.

“We look forward to welcoming the Kofifi Movement back for what promises to be another awesome trip down memory lane as DJs spin old school classics and fashionistas strut their vintage style,” says Rosa Naudé-Potgieter, PR & Promotions Manager at The Carousel.

Urbanisation in early 20th century South Africa led to the creation of ‘townships’ for migrant labourers. They had their own distinct feel and lifestyles – but none was more famous than Sophiatown, or Kofifi as it was affectionately known.

The Kofifi Movement, established in 2012, hosts regular lifestyle events that celebrate old school music, providing a platform to keep the entertainment industry veterans’ music relevant in this day and age, as well as help to preserve the heritage of South African music, fashion and social life history.
Tickets to Kofifi Met Ousies at The Carousel are on sale at Ticketpro for R120 per person or at the door for R150 per person. The doors to the Nickelodeon conference venue will open at 18h00.
