South African entertainers collaborate to bring fire relief

An ensemble of South African entertainers will collaborate to bring hope and relief to people affected by the fires which ripped through Thornhill, Port Elizabeth recently. The nationally recognised performers who will take to the stage in the Fire Hourbenefit show at The Boardwalk on 15 July 2017 include Dillan Oliphant, Clint Brink, Christo Davids, Tafire, Terra Cox, Lora Joplin and the Stone Sisters. The audience can expect an evening of authentic South African music, comedy and fun.  The show takes place at The Boardwalk Amphitheatre at 20h00. Tickets cost R120 per person at Computicket and proceeds raised will be donated to the relief effort.

 “We are honoured to provide the stage for this show in support of those affected by the fire. We encourage the community to be at the Fire Hour show and have some fun while contributing to a worthwhile cause. At a time when so many people face an uncertain future, having lost their homes, it is important that we work together to help alleviate their plight,” says Siphokazi, the PR and Promotions Manager at The Boardwalk.

Clint Brink is a well known South African actor best known for his soapie roles as Shawn Jacobs in Backstage, Bradley Paulse in Generations and as Tino Martins in Scandal! He also starred in the SABC2 variety comedy show Colour TV, in 2011. Brink has also appeared in films such as Dollars and White Pipes, Swop! and Mega Python vs. Gatoroid. In 2014, he had a starring role in the second season of the Mzansi Magic drama series Rockville.

Oliphant is a sought after comedian who has done the rouonds on the comedy scene since 2010.  He has dished out loads of laughs across the country and appeared in an array comedy festivals. He was an opening act at Trevor Noah's The Racist at the Lyric Theatre and in the same year he was named winner of the Newcomer of the Year award at the Annual SA's Comic Choice Awards. He has also appeared on David Kau's Blacks Only show on numerous occasions.

Fast rising, Port Elizabth raised comedian, TaFire started releasing his hilarious skits, which poke fun at South Africa’s different racial stereotypes, on the internet in 2016. In less than a year he had already gained more than 100 000 followers.
