South Africa’s coolest new entertainment venue, the Sun Arena at Time Square in Pretoria, is set for a very festive season, as popular television host Dan Nicholl gathers a collection of extremely talented friends for the very first edition of Dan Nicholl’s Christmas Party, to be held on Monday 17 December.

Taking advantage of the public holiday, the Christmas celebration will run from 15:00 - 17:00, and with ticket prices ranging from R100 to R150, it’s guaranteed to be a terrific afternoon out for the entire family – particularly given the star talent on show, including the acclaimed South African rock band The Parlotones; the hugely popular Kurt Darren; electric violinist Davina Gordon; the multi-talented Bianca le Grange and a very special band that features Just Jinger frontman Ard Matthews and former Springbok Schalk Burger Snr, an accomplished guitarist.

There’ll also be plenty of comedy on stage with the Emmy award-winning Loyiso Gola, Jason Goliath, Stuart Taylor, Donovan Goliath, Chris Forrest and Nicholas Goliath all on the line-up.

Former MasterChef judge Pete Goffe-Wood, illusionist Ryan Sharp and television star Maps Maponyane will also be making an appearance, along with a celebrity Christmas choir with some very familiar faces at the end of the party for a final flourish.

Says Nicholl: “I’m extremely excited to have such an extraordinary collection of South African talent come together for the Christmas party – it’s a celebration of some exceptional local performers, as well as the festive season.

“To see the likes of The Parlotones, Loyiso Gola, Kurt Darren, Stuart Taylor and Bianca le Grange on one line-up, for just R100, is a terrific opportunity. Hopefully we get Maps Maponyane to take his shirt off and Jason Goliath and Chris Forrest to keep theirs on!”

In the spirit of the festive season, the proceeds from the event will all go to the Laureus Sport For Good Foundation, which supports projects across South Africa, using the power of sport to uplift the lives of disadvantaged children.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for people to come along, enjoy a uniquely South African variety show, and support local kids at Christmas,” says Nicholl.

“We’ve got a few surprises as well, so I think we’re in for a very special Christmas party at Time Square!”

Tickets range from R100-R150 and are available from Computicket at
