A night of awesome Afrikaans music awaits at Tsogo Sun’s The Ridge on Saturday, the 10th of November 2018, when two of the country’s best-loved singers - Jo Black and Refentse - will be taking to the stage at The Venue.
With his unmistakable deep voice and signature beard, Jo’s sound can best be described as easy-listening pub music. He also has a few inspirational songs which will leave you with a smile on your face.. Over and above being a talented musician, Jo is also a motivational speaker who has toured the country, empowering people to be the best versions of themselves via his Be that Guy movement.
Refentse first burst onto the SA music scene after a video of him busking on the streets of Vereeniging went viral. Since being discovered, he has kept wowing audiences with the African flavour he adds to Afrikaans music. Today, his special sound is characterised by his warm voice accompanied by the strains of the harmonica, some pop-hooks and the guitar.
The Ridge Marketing Manager, Marina Coetzee, says: “Both Jo and Refentse are brilliant musicians and we are so excited to be bringing them to The Ridge for the very first time – just two more reasons why we are the number one entertainment destination in eMalahleni.”
